ME-MO Body and Bath

Who doesn’t love soap? Especially yummy. natural. locally hand-made. Yes please!

ME-MO Bath and Body approached us to establish their brand and develop a range of labels for their 100% handcrafted line of natural soap bars. What sets ME-MO apart is their use of innovative and interesting ingredient combinations that aim to spark the imagination.

We were very excited to have the opportunity to work with a design savvy client who understood the importance of creating a great brand to marry up with a great product.

Although the soaps are 100% handcrafted ME-MO was keen to avoid the clichéd aesthetics of brown paper and muted, earthy tones that are often associated with this type of product. This belief formed the basis for the design brief.

Inspiration came when discovering a mutual love, between us and the client, of Japanese and Scandinavian design. This resulted in a simple, yet bold design that aimed to established a unique look amongst other handmade products.

Since the innovative ingredient combinations give each soap a unique ‘personality’ it was decided to reflect this by using a unique pattern and colour for each variety in the range.

Printed using the traditional four colour process method (CMYK) we replaced black with the ME-MO corporate navy blue and then replaced cyan, magenta and yellow with neon inks to give an extra spark of colour. This created distinctive labels that stand out and have strong shelf appeal.

In addition to branding and packaging, Salmon provided the ME-MO with a solid kit of both off-line and on-line support material to ensure brand consistency in future marketing.

The branding and packaging has been successful with ME-MO soaps now being stocked throughout Australia. In fact many new wholesale enquiries are based purely on seeing the labels before they have even had a chance to sample the soaps.
